Kicking Cancer's Butt

For those of you who know Nicole Thurm, you already know all she's done to "kick cancer's butt" (in the words of her kindergartener) in the last few weeks. For those who don't know her, she's a wonderful person who is on a mission to fill her life with positivity as she fights breast cancer. She's blogging about her experiences (see "My Blogs") to keep others updated on her progress. We know Nicole through many ways - happens when you live in a small town! - so we ask y'all to keep Nicole and her family in your prayers.

Maddie's Latest

This bit of video captures some of Maddie's latest fads: wearing her Tigger costume (from last Halloween) as a robe, playing with ALL the toys that make music, and bouncing/deep knee bends (a.k.a. dancing) to aforementioned music. Oh, and books? We love to spend countless hours having anyone read those, too.

Oh, how my little girl is growing up

Maddie is catching on to things quicker than I realize (or care to admit sometimes). It seems like she can hear... or see... or do something once and she's got it. That is, if she has decided she wants to. All the bribing in the world won't make her do anything she hasn't set her mind to. Shocking that our child might be stubborn... Grandma Pam and Grandma Diane can stop laughing now.

You know how most toddlers get a "toddler chair" or a "toddler piano" to use so they feel grown-up? I think we're beyond that.

We've gone Mobile!

For those of you with SmartPhones (or if you're like us, pretend to have one with an iPod Touch) our blog is now mobile-friendly!  I have only seen a preview on my computer, but I think you should be able to type our blog address into your phone (or iPod) and the mobile version will pop up.  Let me know what you think!  (PS - I got the idea for this from a blog I follow on my class website - http://www.freetech4teachers.com)
